Have questions about your Quest? You’re in the right place!
Here you’ll find answers to everything from how our quests work, to what to bring, and tips for tackling tricky clues.
Take a look through the sections below. Whether you’re planning a family outing, a day with friends, or a solo adventure, we’ve got the info you need to make your quest fun, easy, and memorable.
What is what3words, and why do you use it?
what3words is a global addressing system that divides the world into 3m x 3m squares and gives each square a unique combination of three words.
We use what3words to provide precise location details for our Quests. It ensures you can easily find exact starting points, clue locations, or hidden spots, especially in areas without formal addresses, making your adventure smooth and stress-free.
What is a Queensland Quest?
A Queensland Quest is an exciting, self-guided adventure that turns towns, cities, and scenic spots across Queensland into your own treasure map. From thrilling explorer hunts to clever detective missions, Queensland Quests have something for everyone.
Whether you’re discovering a new part of your local area or uncovering hidden gems in a familiar town, a Queensland Quest lets you solve clues, follow trails, and enjoy the sights – all while having fun with family, friends, or your team.
Who are Quests for?
Our Quests are family-friendly adventures designed to be fun for all ages. The playful backstories are suitable for children, but some clues and humour are aimed at older kids and adults, so everyone can get involved.
You don’t need children to enjoy a Quest – many adult groups take part too, from friends and couples to work teams and hen or stag parties. No matter your age, our quests are a fun, engaging way to explore, solve puzzles, and create lasting memories.
Can I complete a quest alone?
Absolutely! Quests are designed for individuals, pairs, or groups. Solo adventurers can enjoy the experience at their own pace.
Do I need any special equipment?
Our Quests are designed to be simple and easy to enjoy. All you need is a printed copy of your Quest and a pen to mark your answers. If you prefer, you can also access your Quest digitally on a smartphone or tablet. Just add comfortable shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, and a bottle of water, and you’re ready for a fun, stress-free adventure.
Do I need to book or meet anyone to start a Quest?
No booking is required.
Our Quests are completely self-guided, so you can start whenever you like.
There won’t be anyone to meet at the start, just check your Quest booklet for the starting location (use What3Word to get the precise location) and follow the directions from there.
Are Quests wheelchair and pram accessable?
We try to make all our routes as accessible as possible—we often design them while pushing a pram ourselves! While some areas may have stairs, we’ll always direct you to ramps or accessible alternatives wherever possible.
To find Quests that suit your needs, use the accessibility filters on our website. This will show only the routes that are suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs, so you can enjoy your adventure with ease.
What are the difficulty levels of Quests?
Each Quest is assigned a difficulty level based on its length, complexity, and the challenge of the clues.
Easy and Mild Quests are great for beginners, families, or casual explorers, while Intermediate and Challenging routes suit those looking for more of a puzzle-solving adventure. Advanced and Legend Quests are for the true enthusiasts seeking a serious challenge!
I want you to write a Quest for my area. Can you do that?
We’d love to create new Quests, but we’re just a small team of two starting out, so we can’t just go anywhere and write a Quest on demand. If you have a specific area in mind, please submit your suggestion through our contact form. If we have the funds and the area fits, we’ll work on designing a fun, engaging, self-guided Quest for it.
If you’d like to support us and help make more Quests possible, you can tip via our Ko-Fi page. Every contribution helps us design new trails, develop exciting stories, and keep the adventures coming for everyone!
